Copied in China

Is there anything which manufacturers in China can't copy?

China-copied Toyota Corolla Altis by BYD(比亚道).

China-copied BMW by Geely(吉利).

China-copied Mercedes-Benz by Geely(吉利).

三菱电器变成四菱电器。

SONY batteries became SQNY batteries.
“新力”电池变成“死去你要”电池。

To Lao Xing Zhou: So you only admire China people of the ancient past and not the present?

They may not be original, but you've got to give it to them for being extremely good at copying stuff.

Copying is the faster way to development of products/services. Even Japan was copying the West during those post-war years! We all are copycats in our daily life, one way or another.

To Joepsc: Indeed, without copying, China or any other country, for that matter, would not be able to develop at such a breakneck pace :)

I rem when Philips (the inventor of DVD) decided to open a plant in China, it is their biggest mistake.

Within 6 months, the whole team of local staff setup across the street another company and immediately copied all the technology. They even improved on the technology in terms of reading copy DVD, another big trade in China.

Which explains why OEM DVD player plays all format and is dirt cheap.

I admired the ancient China for their heroism righteousness.

Present now, they are just rude, arrogant, copy-cats and dirty minds.

doing business in china has such different rules.

we are starting to see them develop their intellectual property ethics and in recent times there was even a case of a company from china taking legal action, and winning, against a united states company that violated their intellectual property.

watch this space i guess.

To Lao Xing Zhou: China is the most populous country in the world today. Its population exceeds 1.3b, about 20% of the world's population. I doubt all of them are rude, arrogant, copy-cats and dirty minds. Ha, ha, ha...! :D

To Mark: What an irony. Most of the intellectual property rights, especially American ones, are violated in China. Ha, ha, ha...! :D
