Angry Driver

When you are driving, you are exposed to all kinds of situations which could cause you to react in anger and rage.

It can be the driver behind you flashing or horning at you.

The rear view mirrors are adjusted for the sole benefit of the driver and not that of any passenger in the car. So only the driver himself knows that the he's being flashed at or tailgated.

So while he can be fuming mad at the asshole driver behind him, his passenger next to him would be totally oblivious of the rage that is going on inside the driver.

I am a learner driver and guess what? I've already witness lot's of errand driver.

I get horned by a cab driver for waiting at the filter lane (waiting for the truck to pass-by). Immediately my instructor curse him saying "I hope he bang a truck or something.

There was a part where I manage to overtake a taxi driver and when I stop behind a yellow box that same cab driver over take and nearly bang another cab driver infront of me all just to overtake me.

One lorry driver flash his high beam light on me since it was a shared lane and I want to go straight not left.

There's more for me to type. What I hate the most is motorcycle. They lane change without using signal or suddenly cut into my lane out of sudden.

Perhaps one day I would show middle finger to any driver who horn at me from behind. I'm losing my patient.

i went thru what you are going thru now pal when i was a learner driver way back in 1995. Every other driver, it seemed, was hell-bent on overtaking me. My instructor guided me to drive on the center of the lane to prevent the vehicle behind us from overtaking us. Back then my driving lesson from a private instructor using his 1.5L manual Nissan Sunny was $20 per hour. How much are you paying now? :)

It's easy to lose one's patience on the roads of Singapore where anality and impatience reign supreme. Everyone wants to get ahead. No one wants to be behind unless he has no choice. Drivers of buses and huge big trucks that can't go fast have no choice but to let every other vehicle on the road overtake them. But sometimes huge big buses and trucks that require a Class 4 or Class 5 license to drive are also driven at breakneck speeds of up to 100km/h. I was tailgated by one such bus along Lentor Avenue before. And it wasn't even an expressway. One huge coach was tailgating me at 100km/h! Bloody hell.

We would all be laughing so hard and rejoicing so much when such assholes either crash and burn or get caught by traffic police.

But we have to be mindful that we ourselves can get caught too when we exceed the speed limit.

Happy driving! All the best for your driving test! :D

Cool! that's cheaper than the school. Did his 1.5L Nissan Sunny has another brake pedal beside the driver seat for the instructor to use?

For school at CDC (comfortdelgo driving centre) I'm driving Auto Toyota VIOS 1.5E. I switch to auto after several lesson in Manual. I get insulted by one punk instructor. Damn him further more he talks about Korean song which I'm not interested in. I pay to learn how to drive car safetly not listen about korean song.

I'm paying about $59.90 for weekdays before 6:50pm. After 6:50pm and weekend is around $68.90. School is really expensive.

About tailgating there this lorry who was tailgating me so near when I was traveling around 70km/h. He's nuts. I be happy if he ended up getting caught by the traffic police or crash into the drain.

Bus and truck aren't suppose to drive up to 100km/h unless that driver is nuts enough to hit someone.

Hmm you're a private student at that time what's the furthest road you ever drive? Mine as a school student the furthest is Tampines.

To Smarty: Yes. My instructor did have a brake pedal on his side. I used to wonder why my brake pedal would move away from my foot by itself. Ha, ha, ha...! :D

I used to get tons of sacarstic remarks from my instructor too for not being able to drive well enough. He would say my brain was "square-shaped". He also criticised me for not turning my head frequently enough to check my blind spots.

Yah boy Comfort Driving Center is really expensive. No wonder the gahmen doesn't want to issue any more new licenses to private driving instructors. Because it's a very lucrative business and they want to have total control over this market.

I hate buses and lorries that tailgate me. i hope they crash and get caught. Unfortuntately, they get away with it most of the time.

The furthest i ever drove was only Kaki Bukit where Mas Selamat Kastari was born and Upper Aljunied Road.

Do you think he's still hiding somewhere in Singapore? I think he's probably either in JB or Indonesia.

Hmm either someone is helping him or he's alone in one of our nature reserve or forest.

You see he's a jungle trained and I'm sure he can hunt for food like fruits, snake, fish and etc.

If he's not here either he fled to Malaysia (unlikely) or Indonesian island of Sumatra where his home base were establish.

Lol buses and lorries is what I'm feared the most. A single hit by them will crush me and my instructor like a pancake.

Driving in Singapore is becoming less and less of a pleasure. Everyone is so impatient and wants to get ahead. No one wants to be left behind. So all the learner drivers get bullied and overtaken. *sighz* is it better to ride a bike? Can squeeze in between vehicles to stay ahead in a jam?

Cannot dangerous to squeeze here and there who knows some impatience driver didn't check his/her blind spot and might just hit you without signaling. One the other hand riding on expressway is fun. You can feel the winds.

Yes driving is becoming less and less of a pleasure. It's a pain to be patience while someone behind you will horn at you for your slow turning or acceleration.

That's how motorcyclists get squashed. By squeezing in between traffic to get ahead at high speeds. They are not called hell-riders for nothing.
