Inching Forward To Let Vehicle Behind Turn

There are certain lanes at traffic lights junctions which are meant for both going straight and turning either left or right.

What do you do when you've come to a stop at such a lane as the traffic lights are red because you are going straight, and there is a either a left or right turn arrow that is on, at this junction?

Do you inch forward across the line to let the vehicle(s) behind you make their turn?

Or do you hold your ground without budging and hold up the traffic behind you that wants to make a turn?

For me, I would inch forward to let the vehicle(s) behind make their turn.

But I don’t always reap what I sow because every now and then I would get inconsiderate pricks who refuse to budge and prevent me from making my turn even though the left or right turn arrow is on.

And what happens if you want to make a turn but the vehicle in front of you refuses to budge? Do you horn and flash your high beam at him or her? If you do, the driver in front of you just might show you a middle finger.

I'm the sort who moves ahead to try to let the guy behind me pass. But sometimes, the guy behind is so kayu that he dared not try to pass because he cannot gauge if there is enough space or not. So nowadays, if it not a clear cut situation that if I move, they can pass, I will just stay put. But I have seen situations where the people behind horn at the idiot blocking the road in front. 9 out of 10 times, the idiots will behave as if it's their grandfather's road and IGNORE. That's life. Just wait lor, what to do?

To LIS: Yaloh. Just wait loh, what to do?

It's these buggers who drive as if the the roads belong to their grandfathers, that are the main source of anger, frustration and misery on the roads :p

I normally move forward when there is ample space for the vehicle behind to pass to turn left or right. If otherwise, someone gave me a new insight. He said, if the space is not wide enough, why risk your car being scratched by the one behind trying to squeeze through? That makes a lot of sense to me. So, these days discretion dictates the move. Nice middle finger! LOL!

To HS: Need to move forward a bit more to prevent your car from getting scratched behind :p Nice middle finger? Shouldn't your blood be boilding instead if you see someone showing you his or middle finger? :p

Like I said, if the space is narrow, I will stay put. He just have to wait for his turn, same as I wait for mine. Show off your middle finger too. LOL!

To HS: You mean you would show your middle finger to the driver behind you if he horns and flashes his high beam at you? :p

you usually reap what you sow, but not necessary in the same same form.
