Wedding Dinner at Rasa Sentosa
Last night I attended a wedding dinner of my cousin at Rasa Sentosa.
It was originally planned to be an outdoor event with lantern decorations and stuff.
But it rained. So they had to move everything indoors to a basement ballroom.
The buffet dinner was supposed to start at 7pm. I was hopeful it could end early at around 9pm +.
But because of the shift, it only started at 9pm. So after all the items, videos, thanksgiving speeches, etc, the dinner ended at 11pm, slightly earlier than a traditional Chinese wedding dinner.
So much for wanting to stuff oneself silly at a buffet dinner and leaving promptly when one is full.
A buffet dinner is so much better than a traditional dish-by-dish kind of dinner where the first dish normally starts around 9pm and each subsequent dish comes in every 15 minutes. For a 9 course dinner, the last dish would only get served at 11pm. Eating such a dinner is such a laborious chore. Wouldn’t it be great if all the dishes can get served in one shot?

LOL! Yeah lah, Chinese dinners are something like all night long! Still, I prefer to be served because I don't fancy buffet wedding dinners. I'm not one for standing in a long line for food - sure takes the appetite away.
To HS: The queue wasn't very long. And it was pretty fast moving. So i bet you would enjoy yourself at such a buffet dinner. The spread of food was sumptuous :)
Oh? Actually, I don't mind buffet dinners and lunches but just not at wedding dinners. Psstt... the next time you are here, you've got to try the buffet dinner in Shangri-la and the one up in KL Tower, the latter you'd need to book in advance because they are usually booked for functions.
To HS: Actually, i very seldom at at expensive restaurants. The next time i go to KL, i'd probably stick to cheap stuff as usual :p
Too bad about the rain!
I never could sit through the whole traditional wedding banquet - I usually leave after the fish is served. Hahaha...
To LIS: I wish i can leave after the fish is served too. Ha, ha, ha...! :D
MB, I have a cheap buffet place for you, and it's at Berjaya Times Square. Sounds familiar, eh? There's this place that serves mostly chicken and with a buffet spread of many others and it's great value for money for only RM19.90 (the time I was there a year ago). I'm so sorry I'm not good with shop names but I think there's a word 'Chicken' in the name. If I remember correctly, it's only a two-word name. I'm sure the info counter will be able to help you locate the shop. It's a corner shoplot.
To HS: Thanks for the recommendation. I shall bear the restaurant in mind the next time i go to KL :)
