Being bi- or multi-lingual has its advantages or is it disadvantages when it comes to naming offspring. There are many common names for both boys and girls that can mean something negative or derogatory in another language or dialect. Aarrghh!! So many considerations, so stressful! LOL!
Yaloh. Especially if you understand Chinese, Cantonese, Teochew, Hokkien, English and Malay all at the same time. The more languages and dialects you know, the more names you would have to avoid using :p
How about naming your daughter Julie? Think in cantonese.
